About Us

Terpenia Phytotherapeutics produces organic full-spectrum cannabis extracts in Alistrati, Serres in northern Greece. We provide a high quality end-product that is flexible and safe to dose due to its constant active ingredient content.

Our mission

“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.”

Henry Miller

Terpenia’s cultivation and production facility is located in Northern Greece, in the prefecture of Serres. The region is located in the warm temperate zone (subtropics), where the Mediterranean climate is characterized by humid-mild winters and dry-hot summers. Such a climate turns out to be ideal for the cultivation of the cannabis plant. This is where we grow our high quality, purely ecological cannabis.

Through an advanced extraction process, we minimize the loss of volatile and fragile compounds and thus gain a broader spectrum of pharmacologically valuable terpenes. Our end-product contains a complex and rich palette of oils and flavors compared to other medical cannabis products. Our extraction process minimizes the risk of biological contamination, such as fungal spores or bacteria. A very low water activity (aw) value assures no subsequent microbial growth and eliminates the need for post processing like irradiation treatment.

Our end-products adhere to all relevant European laws and regulations for the production of pharmaceutical and herbal medicinal products.

All our cultivation, production and distribution activities follow strict EU regulations and good practice guidelines, such as: Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Agricultural and Collecting Practice (GACP) , Good Distribution Practice (GDP), Good manufacturing practice for active pharmaceutical ingredients (ICH Q7A).

100% Sustainability: Our Promise & Values

At the core of all our operations is our  environmental code of conduct that guides our research & production and aims to consistently integrate ecological, social and knowledge management aspects into our activities.

Sustainable Methods

Despite being significantly more labor intensive, we choose traditional building and manual cultivation methods over industrial techniques. Our facility is built with ecological materials, mainly wood and glass and is powered entirely by renewables, such as solar and wind energy.

Conservative use of resources

We water our plants manually and individually to avoid the high water consumption of automated irrigation systems. Furthermore, our plants grow entirely with available sunlight and do not require any artificial lighting in our advanced glass greenhouse.

Ecological production

We use purely organic fertilisers and our extraction process is executed with strictly natural, non-toxic substances.  We pay close attention to our production process and make sure not to emit any environmentally harmful substances.

%

Research Funding

We allocate 10% of our profits to our own research projects, as well as to other promising research & development projects in the field of medical cannabis.

%

Social Engagement

We intend to allocate 5% of our profits to school-projects, scholarships, and local charitable and environmental projects.

Job Opportunities

We create direct employment opportunities in facility administration and cultivation.

Our roadmap

“The Path is made by walking. By walking you make a path.

Antonio Machado
